GrampaiCompanion AI

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 18, 2026

Draft only — requires legal review before launch, particularly before any Stripe payment flow goes live. This document is not legal advice.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Grampai ("we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our AI voice concierge service, available to residents of Canada and the United States. Grampai is operated by [Legal Entity Name — to confirm]. Contact: callgrampai@gmail.com.

2. Meta Pixel and Conversions API

We use Meta Pixel (browser-side) and Meta Conversions API (server-side) to measure and improve our advertising.

  • Canada, Europe, and regions we cannot identify: no Meta tracking of any kind starts until you accept our consent banner.
  • United States: tracking is on by default, and you can opt out at any time through the consent banner or by contacting us.
  • Events currently sent: PageView, Contact, Lead.
  • Events planned for later, once payments launch: Subscribe, AddPaymentInfo, Purchase.
  • When permitted by your consent choice, contact details (such as email or phone number) sent to Meta through the server-side Conversions API are normalized and hashed before transmission — Meta does not receive this information in plain text.
  • Your consent choice itself is recorded and stored so we can demonstrate compliance and honor your preference going forward.

3. Cookies and Consent

Our consent banner lets you accept or decline non-essential tracking cookies (including Meta Pixel). You can change your choice at any time using the cookie preferences link in the site footer. Essential cookies required for the site to function are not subject to this choice.

4. Information We Collect

  • Form submissions: name, phone number, email, and any other details you enter on our website; stored in our backend.
  • Voice call content: recordings and transcripts of calls with our AI, used to carry out your requests and generate family summaries.
  • Usage data: minutes used on Companionship plans, ride and delivery history.
  • Payment information (once Stripe payments launch): handled directly by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Addresses: pickup and delivery locations shared with Uber/Uber Eats to complete a request.
  • Consent and marketing data: your cookie/tracking choices, and any marketing communications you've opted into.

5. How We Use Information

We use this information to operate the service (book rides and deliveries, run Companionship calls, send family summaries), process billing, respond to inquiries, send you service and marketing communications you've consented to, and improve the service.

Automated decision-making: our AI processes each call to understand your request and trigger an action (booking a ride, placing an order). You can always ask to be transferred to a human team member instead of continuing with the AI, and you can request a review of any action the AI took on your behalf.

6. Sharing With Third Parties

We share information with:

  • Uber and Uber Eats, to book and complete rides and deliveries (name, phone, addresses)
  • Stripe (once payments launch), to process subscription and transaction charges
  • Meta, for advertising measurement as described in Section 2
  • Voice AI infrastructure providers (speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and language model processing), to operate calls
  • The designated family member/caregiver on your account, who receives a summary after each Companionship call

Grampai is not an official partner of, and is not endorsed or sponsored by, Uber, Uber Eats, Meta, or Stripe. We use their public services and APIs, and any claim of official partnership would require a separate written agreement with that company. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

We never sell your information to third parties for advertising purposes.

7. Data Retention and Security

We retain call recordings, transcripts, and account data for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, and use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it. [Retention periods to be finalized with legal counsel before launch.]

8. Your Rights and Choices

Canadian residents (including Quebec, under Law 25/PIPEDA): you have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal information, to withdraw consent at any time, and to file a complaint with the applicable privacy regulator. A designated caregiver may exercise these rights on behalf of the senior on the account, with the senior's consent.

U.S. residents: depending on your state, you may have additional rights (for example, under California law) to know what information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for advertising. [State-specific rights language to be finalized with legal counsel as we expand.]

To exercise any of these rights, contact callgrampai@gmail.com.

9. Children's Privacy

Grampai is intended for use by adults. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.

10. International and Cross-Border Data Transfers

Some of our service providers (including voice AI infrastructure) may process data outside of Canada, including in the United States. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for these transfers.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on our website with a new effective date.
